About Our Team

Our History

Animal Urgent Care was founded in July of 1996 by Dr. Karen Seibold and colleagues to provide the best emergency veterinary medical and surgical services for companion animals. The practice was relocated to a state-of-the-art facility in April 2003, where it remains today as the longest standing small animal emergency and critical care hospital in North County San Diego.

As of January 1, 2018, Animal Urgent Care came under new ownership in the form of long-time associate Dr. Scott DiLorenzo. Dr. DiLorenzo is thrilled to continue the tradition of providing high-quality veterinary care set forth by Dr. Seibold and serving the pets of North County San Diego when they need it most.

Our Mission

To provide state-of-the-art emergency and critical care medicine and surgery for animals with compassion, integrity and value.

To accomplish our mission:

We will nurture the relationship between the client and the medical staff to realize the common goal of humane, compassionate, state-of-the-art emergency and surgical veterinary care.

Veterinary Oath

Being admittted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

I will practice my profession conscientously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.
